My Students

My students are creative and fun! Why not give more students the opportunity to explore music in new ways? Working with a limited number of classroom instruments has presented challenges, but we have the chance to branch out and reach more students!

We want to give more students the opportunity to create, appreciate, and enjoy music.

That's why we're working to expand our current course offerings, potentially including a high school music appreciation course and a "modern band" course that would allow students to explore guitar, ukulele, drumset, piano, and music technology. These ukuleles would also be integrated into the 8th-grade music curriculum.

My Project

As our band continues to grow, particularly at the middle school level, we are struggling to pick good-quality stands for students to rest their music on during rehearsal. Most of our middle school students have to share a stand, as there aren't enough good ones to go around.

Many of our current stands are old, breaking, and have been spray painted black several times in order to hide the years of wear and tear, as well as prolong their lifespan.

Bolts are stripping and many rock back and forth or the music tray flips down as a result of this.

Please help us in our journey to provide both quality equipment and a quality music education to the students of the Milton Area School District.
