This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our high school, we are committed to supporting the whole student—not just academically, but also emotionally and physically. Many of our students face challenges that go beyond the classroom, including limited access to basic school supplies, nutritious snacks, and personal hygiene products. These everyday essentials are often taken for granted, yet they play a critical role in a student's ability to focus, participate, and feel confident in their learning environment. Students who feel supported are more likely to thrive both academically and socially.

Ensuring that students have access to school supplies, healthy snacks, and personal hygiene products is crucial for nurturing their mental health, promoting positive self-image, and enhancing their ability to succeed academically.

To help address these needs, we are creating a Student Support Station: a dedicated, organized storage area where students can discreetly access the items they need at any time. With your generous support, this space will provide folders, composition books, pens/pencils, earbuds, personal hygiene items, and healthy snacks throughout the school year. This small but powerful initiative will remove barriers that hinder learning and help our students stay engaged, motivated, and ready to succeed.
