My Students

I have the pleasure of teaching French to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders at a Title I school. Many of my students come from low-income families and face difficult challenges outside of school. Despite these challenges that they face on a daily basis, they come to class eager and ready to learn. My students enjoy learning in creative ways, such as through coloring, labeling, writing, and interactive games and activities.

My hardworking students are excited to learn about French and to be able to use it outside of the classroom.

I enjoy arriving to each class and being able to share my knowledge with them. I hope to create an engaging and safe learning environment for them that also challenges them to be better learners. With my students attending a Title I school they do not have access to all of the resources that they should be afforded. As their teacher, I am striving to provide all of the necessary resources.

My Project

Since we spend so much of the school day on the computer, I would like to offer my students the option of being able to complete some assignments on paper. This may give them a sense of relief and will provide a hands-on learning experience. I believe writing with paper and pencil helps students more easily remember their notes and vocabulary words.

With these spiral-bound notebooks and scissors, my students will be able to create interactive notebooks during class that will help them remember the content long after they leave the classroom.

The glue sticks will be used to paste pictures and diagrams into the notebooks. I already have a small shelf for each class to leave their notebooks at the end of the day, so the notebooks will never get lost or torn apart.
