My Students

Let's make it a family game/homework night! Our children today live in a fast-paced world--one that has many parents working and coming home tired and not wanting to look at homework. These "Family Bags" could create a different "fun" way to handle this problem!

I want to impact all 21 of my students and their families.

These are young children needing some extra time with "homework" from their parents without having to do it in the traditional way. We are a small rural Louisiana school that has limited monies available for "extra" materials. I would like to create a fun way to do homework skills, while at the same time immerse the family in some "together" time.

My Project

My students will learn number and counting skills through hands-on activities. This is a very necessary life skill for now and in the future. We will use these to encourage family math time at home and in our math centers at school. My students will increase their knowledge of numbers in every aspect.

Children today need number understanding in every part of their lives.

Our school has limited funds available to buy hands-on items for all classes; therefore, it becomes the classroom teacher's job to try and become innovative in finding supplies/activities for each child to be able to use daily. These children deserve every opportunity that we can find to encourage and promote lifelong skills at an early age.
