My Students

I serve 100 ELL (English Language Learners) at my school. This project would benefit all of my students, as well as the projects created from this would impact my entire school. My school is 78% free and reduced lunch and is located in a needy community.

The one thing they all have in common, is the drive to learn English.

They are truly amazing!

My students are about 50% Hispanic, 25% Cambodian, and the rest a wonderful blend of everything from Russian to Chinese. They come from different countries and backgrounds.

My Project

These materials would promote further learning and exploration of other countries and cultures. Students would look forward to our monthly reading materials, trinkets, stamps in our passports and reading materials each month. These resources would enhance our Language Of the Month and cultural studies. The coins would add realia to our monthly language. I would align them with our Little Passports classroom subscription. One hundred students would be directly impacted, although projects that are stemmed from access to this project would be accessible for all students in the building. This would give my students depth to their learning and something to look forward to each month!
