My co-teachers and I are lucky to teach 205 wonderful students. What makes our job challenging is that each of these students learns differently, behaves differently, has a different level of comfort in class, and has different challenges and goals. They have different interests and are engaged by different things. My goal is to help the struggling students, as well as provide enrichment to the students who perform at higher levels. Making learning fun and engaging is my ultimate goal!
My Project
Help my students take a trip back in time without having to leave our building! Our upcoming unit will dive into the ancient civilizations (Egypt, Rome & Greece). They will feel as if they are right there in ancient days of these civilizations by using the Google Virtual Reality Glasses. These VR glasses are hooked up to an app which allows them to view a scene from several different time periods. In addition to the glasses, the room will be filled with some artifacts from the time of the civilization such as Ancient Egyptian Canopic Jars and Sarcophagus replicas. I believe these items will make a difference in my student's learning by allowing them to be fully engaged in the lessons.
