Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Student learning is not static and neither should their seat be. This Fall, I will have four 6th grade science classes with 30 students in each. That’s a tight squeeze in my science room. Three of my classes will be ICT ENL classes which means some of my students will have special education programs, and all the students will be English as a New Language Learners. During the learning period, I would like students to have the ability to collaborate with other groups. Having these stools will provide flexible seating for students to easily join small group instruction or simply work in the hallway which I consider an extension of my classroom.

Flexible seating allows students to engage in a manner that supports independence and responsibility.

These stools will be helpful to me and my co-teacher as well. Instead of bending over to speak with a group of students, we can conference with students face-to-face. Help us take a seat, work together, and make every science lesson an experiment in success!
