My Students

When it comes to getting kids hooked on reading, I'll try anything. And guess what? I've found something that works.

My 3rd grade boys and girls are some of the most creative, energetic, and hard working students in all of Baltimore City.

In many ways, the deck has been stacked against them. Some of them face more challenges in a week than I ever did when I was their age. But that doesn't stop them from dreaming and striving to fulfill their potential. Because becoming a great reader is one of the most important steps they can take toward future success, we dedicate a large part of our class time to developing our reading skills.

My Project

This proposal is requesting 6 LeapFrog Tag readers, and several Tag books. Tag readers help students sound out letters and words, and build comprehension skills. The accompanying stories are engaging and include a number of text features. The best part? Students love reading with Tag.

Please help my students develop their reading skills and fall in love with good books.

Together, we can make sure that 100% of our 3rd graders end the year on or above grade level!
