Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from the inner city Dallas, Texas. So many are not able to afford a computer for their home. My students depend on the technology at school to complete reports and projects.

My students are a mixture of student abilities.

Some are very slow readers and I use Read Theory in my classroom to help all of them especially my struggling readers. My school has very few computers for the students to use. Our students are the future let's make sure they know that.

My Project

I will use the tablets for use in my classroom and I will allow my students to take them home to complete projects. The paper will be use to copy reading selections to send home for homework. My students will feel successful when they can use a tablet at home to complete assignments and not be ashamed to let other students know that their parents can't afford to buy one. I want my students to know that there are people in this country who value them as our future leaders. As an educator I will always speak up for the students who feel that their parents can't or just don't know how to.
