Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We work with currently incarcerated adults working to earn their high school diploma and improve their job readiness at the same time. Our students are deeply motivated to earn a quality education in order to attend post secondary schools or to gain meaningful employment. Many of our students are working on their basic reading and math skills while working on their social and emotional well being as well. Through meaningful educational experiences, we have seen many students transform their lives and reach their goals.
My Project
We are looking to get tablets to use with our students to enhance their learning. Currently we do not have any technology to use with our students who are in custody working to better themselves.
With the use of these tablets, we plan to supplement the day-to-day instruction with technology based instruction to support our students.
The tablets help teach our students academic skills and also the skills needed to navigate various forms of technology. We know that in order to be successful in any industry and career, students must also develop technology skills. The tablets will bring our teaching and learning to a new level.
