This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I always tell my students that they're unicorns. "Why?" they ask. I tell them that they are unique individuals. I always tell them, don't be afraid to be unique, silly and always be yourself. It is important to instill confidence in my students since they are English Language Learners.

My students are faced with many everyday challenges by living in a border town.

Living in this small town means that most of their families are separated by the hardships of the US/Mexican border.

We are a dual language school, which means that most of our students only speak their home language and have to learn English. I try to provide meaningful learning experiences by giving my students an equal opportunity to be successful. I provide hands-on activities that makes students want to come to school and learn.

My Project

Every student wants to use Technology all day, everyday whether it is in or out of school. Why not allow students to use technology such as Tablets to learn? In 4th grade, my students need to take a state-wide test based on Science.

Students would benefit from having tablets in the classroom to be able to complete Science related Research Projects.

These research projects will allow students to learn while using technology. They will learn how to use the scientific method to conduct their own research projects or make bar graphs to show data (math). These are the fundamental skills that students need to become successful scientists.
