During coping skills classes, I introduced students to each instrument and taught them how to use these tools to de-escalate, self-regulate, and manage strong emotions. Students are learning that these strategies can help them calm their bodies and minds during moments of stress or emotional difficulty.\r\n\r\nWe have been practicing breathing exercises using our calming koala, and students are also able to use weighted animal to help reduce anxiety, hyperactivity, sadness, and anger. These tools have been especially effective in helping students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Many students now independently request these items when they recognize they need support, which shows growth in emotional awareness and self-regulation.\r\n\r\nYour donation has truly made a difference in our students' daily experiences.
