My Students
My students are energetic, enthusiastic, and full of life. They love exploring new things. They work as a team and love to sing and dance. We are working on mastering all of the alphabet sounds as the process of learning to read unfolds.
Military housing surrounds our school, and approximately 90% of our students have a parent in the military.
The majority of the these families will only be living in this area for two years or less. As a result, students are continuously moving in and out of our classrooms. Moving frequently is not an easy adjustment for children, and our school works extra hard to meet the social-emotional needs of every student.
My Project
These tablets will be so helpful because we have structured center times and all my students are comfortable with touch screen tablets of some kind. Currently my school does not receive extra funding and our classroom computers do not work! They shut down during use, lack mouses and it makes it so difficult to have students be independent on them while I'm working with a small group. It will be so amazing to have four tablets to use daily in math and reading centers and if there ends up being a wrong click to a new webpage, students are able to navigate themselves to help meet their growth goals.
