This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What makes my students so special is that they are so diverse in their specific special needs! Every day my room strives to do their best to learn and grow. We work hard to build language, social, and engagement skills. Having an exciting and well-developed environment that supports our learning helps us grow. We are a self-contained behavioral needs classroom, who work so very hard to participate and learn every day in everything we do.

We work hard to learn to use our words, build our vocabulary, and play experiences.

Through academics and play, we develop these vital skills. Having materials to capture and maintain our attention and engage us helps us to build language and social skills.

My Project

I work in a classroom where language is a barrier for my students. By gaining these new tablets into my classroom I will be able to engage the kids in language building games in order to enhance their learning. With the use of tablets, we will also be able to have an interactive independent reading time where the kids can listen to stories and have them read to them when they are struggling! In addition to language, the tablets will build upon their individual math skills through games and activities. Through academics and play, we develop these vital skills. Having materials to capture and maintain our attention and engage us helps us to build language and social skills.
