Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

The materials that I am requesting will go to great use in my classroom are needed because we are a school that is heavy on technology yet low on budgeting as it pertains to the specials department. With that being said each grade level has access to Chromebooks as well as other devices, however these resources are not available to be shared with the specials department. It is my opinion with a school that heavy on technology, the music department should not be left behind, considering how important technology has become to this generation.

The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of Music Technology as it pertains to various areas of life including video games, films, and commercials.

My students will be excited to continue their growth in Music Education. With the use of tablets, using platforms such as Chrome Music, Groove Pizza, Incredible Box, my musicians will be able to make their own beats and compositions to complete their own songs. I also hope to instill that fact that through music technology other careers in music can be considered, as mentioned before, music for video games. Many of my boys love to play video games, and it is my hope to give an assignment where they will have to compose music for what will be a future game.

My students have become very skilled at writing their own lyrics, poetry and rap songs these goals will excite them to be able to put music and beats that they will create themselves under their own lyrics will give them more confidence in their own creativity. My musicians have learned to make music with their mouths vocally through beatboxing working together in groups producing each other's music, having this resource will be an added bonus.
