My students are 3rd graders. They are full of smiles, hugs, and excitement for learning. Our school day is extended and parent involvement is not always available, so we as teachers do our best to provide them with a safe, nurturing learning environment. Seventy-five percent of our students are on free/reduced lunches and classroom funding and resources are limited.
I want to give my students the best experience and foster their love of learning to last a lifetime.
Sharing their experiences with their families and friends is one huge component to their learning and success. My students are with me for 8 hours a day and I would like to interweave home and school as much as possible.
A tablet in the classroom will make it quick and easy for students to communicate what they do at school with family and friends at home. Students will be able to upload and share photos and videos to our Bloomz site. Families will be able to see, enjoy and comment on what the students and I are doing in the classroom. Not all work goes home or is talked about by the students, so this will help students be more successful in sharing. Bridging the gap between school and home is crucial for student success and a tablet will help us do that.
