My Students

A typical day in my classroom involves many hands-on activities. It is very important for students to apply what they are learning in a variety of different ways.

I teach 5th grade in a Title 1 school.

My school has a high percentage of free and reduced lunch. We have great parents who are supportive of their children but are unable to donate many supplies that are needed. My school also has many activities that help to involve the community.

My Project

These tables will allow my students the opportunity to work together in groups. My students will be able to do many assignments in pairs whereas now they have to do them independently.

Tables allow for better group discussion.

When students are able to discuss they can retain more information. The students also have better communication which leads to better life skills.

The tables will also help the flow of the classroom layout and structure. The classroom will also be more open for other activities. The students will be able to move around the room to different tasks without running into desks.
