This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our classroom is full of students new to the country. They are from various countries; they speak various languages and all of them are eager to learn English. When students arrive, we immediately want them to feel part of the community. We regularly spend time working in groups practicing English.
Currently we are short on the number of tables that we have in our classroom.
Students are working at desks and are not engaging as much as those at tables. Adding more tables to our classroom will solidify the feeling of community that we foster every day.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
