Table Talk

My students need tables to collaborate during their reading. The tables will allow my students to fully engage and participate with their reading groups.

My Students

I teach an energetic group of 26 fifth grade students. They come to me daily for ELA. They come in each day ready to learn. We work in collaborative groups daily. Within their groups they have academic conversations where they read independently and have discussions based on what they’ve read. I have a variety of reading levels within my classroom. They range from high abilities to those with specific learning disabilities. Due to the variety of reading levels it is important that I put them in small groups based on those levels. The students enjoy going to stations daily while I pull groups of students with me to work on areas of struggle.

My Project

I ordered 6 tables for my students to be able to work in collaborative groups during their ELA block. Unfortunately, 3 of the tables were damaged during shipping. Amazon was very accommodating and allowed me to replace the tables. The tables that I had originally ordered were no longer available. After searching for other tables that would match the previously purchased tables I found these. These tables are a little larger than the other tables. They will be better for my 5th grade students this year. I can't wait for my students to get to use these tables during team tasks this year!
