T-Shirt Design for All!

Help me give my students the ability to create T-shirts to show the skills they are learning in Project Make class. The Heat Press will give them the opportunity to press their vinyl designs on a wearable canvas!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my Project Make class are learning how to persevere and create projects and designs that they can be proud of! The soul of the Project Make class is for students to create and learn from their mistakes as they grow as makers. "Failure is success in progress!" - Einstein

Help give my students the opportunity to design and make their own T-shirts for our Project Make class of 2023-2024!

This project will focus on design skills and how to cut vinyl. We already have access to a vinyl cutter thanks to a previous donation project! To have the ability to put the vinyl designs onto wearable T-shirts, we are requesting a heat press and heat transfer vinyl, as well as the T-shirts for students to transfer their designs onto. We will make a class design to go on one side of the shirt and then the students have the freedom to create their own personal design for the other side of the shirt. Students will then get to keep their shirts to remember the fun they had in class!

Help give my students this opportunity that they may not be aware is available to them. Once they have the skills to design and create, they can explore other types of materials to customize for future projects to benefit the school community as a whole. This is an ongoing elective class, and the heat press can be used from year-to-year to create wearable designs!
