Do you remember your first day of school and having the 1st day jitters? I teach 19-21 first graders from various backgrounds. If I could describe my kids in one word I would have to use " different". I use the word different because even though 45% of my kids are English Language Learners they are still fun energetic and eager to learn. Our rural Title I elementary school has 100% of the students receiving free breakfast and lunch.
Everyday twenty-one students depend on me to go above and educate them regardless of their current situation.
I want 1st grade to be fun, exciting, engaging, realistic and motivating for all students.
These requested Wobble Chairs, Stuffed Animal Storage Bean Bag Chairs, and plastic stack stools will assist the students with learning in our classroom. They will provide flexible seating to meet the accommodations for different types of students with hyper activity and special needs. Wobble Chairs will help students pay attention and be more engaged. With these chairs in the reading lab students will be more eager to sit and read knowing they are sitting some place comfortable. During independent work times they can choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Students are having to sit in various locations such as the floor with clip boards and or laying on the floor.
