Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are great mathematicians, scientists, writers, explorers, artists, etc. They are in a Spanish & English Dual Language Program and for the most part, all students have been in this program since they were in Pre-school. Being in such a program poses challenges to them because some of these students are second generation in this country and all they listen to at home is English. The other half of the students are first-generation and therefore, all they hear and speak at home is Spanish. My students are well aware that being fluent and bi-literate in this country will open doors to better opportunities in their careers and in their future. Introducing a Nintendo Switch to the classroom could infuse an element of delight and excitement into their challenging learning journey!

Research indicates that video games can make learning fun, foster the development of social skills, and assist children in honing their problem-solving abilities.

My students will use the Nintendo Switch to engage in fun experiences and be able to build a stronger classroom community. They will also be able to participate in fun physical activities.
