I am a proud middle school Spanish teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. I teach Spanish as an elective to over 140 students, most of whom come from low-income households. They chose this class knowing the value of being bilingual and biliterate, and at a pivotal age, they are motivated to invest in their future by choosing Spanish over other electives.
