This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have been working so hard to learn how to self-regulate their own emotions. They have many different ways to express their emotions and often use sensory tools to help get back to their calm zone.

Swinging allows a child to neutralize the disruptions that are caused by their vestibular system.

A few things that cause disruption to my students are change in schedule, loud noises, inability to communicate what they are asking for, and so much more. The smooth, back-and-forth motion can be soothing and calming to a child.

The swing wouldn't just be a fun thing to have in the room but it would be a TOOL!

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
