This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A sensory room in a special education classroom can provide numerous benefits for students with diverse learning needs. We will be adding three SLC (Structured Learning Class) classrooms to our school this upcoming year. These students will need extra supports. Students who have Autism typically have high sensory needs, which are met in a variety of ways. We are asking for all of the swings and sensory toys to start a sensory room that will benefit many of our students. There are several reasons and rationales for having a sensory room:

It provides a safe and controlled environment where students can engage with sensory stimuli that suit their specific needs.
