My students need flexible, comfortable seating to stay engaged and on task. They also need educational games that will help them thrive in reading comprehension and vocabulary. These resources will keep my students HOOKED!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students need to be in classrooms that inspire them—spaces that are light, airy, and filled with academic materials that foster them to do their best! More than half my students come from low income households. These students do not always have the privilege or access to resources at home let alone a space ( one that is comfortable and suitable for each individual child) for them to learn. That is why it is important that I create a flexible, comfortable student centered classroom environment full of learning and engaging activities.
My Project
The resources needed to complete this project will enhance the educational growth of these soon to be second graders. The flexible seating allows students allows students to feel empowered by choosing where they are able to sit and with who. This allows students to minds to stay focused and alert during our reading or writing block and the mobile bin will allow them to stay organized making transitions easy. Comfortable students are engaged students! Through educational games, (such as the ones listed) students can learn a variety of important skills. There are countless skills that students can develop through game playing such as critical thinking skills, creativity, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. In my mind these materials go hand in hand. The benefits are incredible! Not to mention will help those few students who may need some sensory reinforcements and work that may not seem like work!
