Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love coming to school every day. I teach 24 wonderful and enthusiastic kindergartners. A majority of my students are English Language Learners, with Spanish or Vietnamese as their first language.
My school is a Title I school in California.
A full 81% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students may not have many material things, but they always try their best and never give up. They are hard workers, and I am so proud of my students!
My Project
Winter is upon us. The weather is getting cold and chilly but my students still come to school in short sleeve shirts that don't provide the warmth they did need. Many students come to school with goosebumps complaining about being cold. It just breaks my heart. Unfortunately, many of the students don't have long sleeve shirts or sweaters to wear for the winter. I am requesting for sweaters, long sleeve shirts and socks to give to my students to help keep them warm when they attend school. Your donation to this project will help provide the necessary clothes my students need to stay warm and healthy.
