Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Sweaters are a necessary part of every student's day. Our school has temperamental heat and some days it is quite chilly in the classroom. These sweaters will keep the students warm and they will be able to put them on and remove them with minimal disruptions.

Sweaters keep us warm, and students will love to have a sweater chosen specifically with them in mind.

This project will make my students feel seen and valued as a member of our school community.

No more hoodies where students need help putting on or taking off. These sweaters will give each student the freedom to have it fully zipped or buttoned or opened for some air. The sweaters are chosen to match our school uniform colors and will show students that they can be warm and stylish. I would love to walk down the hall with my class in color-coordinated sweaters.

My students come to school every day with big smiles, open hearts, and eager minds. I am so proud of the effort the students make every day despite everything that they have experienced in their young lives. Our school community is located in a high-poverty area and the school is a safe haven for my students.
