My students are considered ESOL, ELD, and English III. My students often have disabilities that require specialty book selections and special projects as well as other special needs and therefore require an adapted method of learning.
In education, project based learning is a near and dear for me as a teacher.
I look at students who perhaps will not participate, but when they use the materials for a project based learning assignment in our class, they do so with more enthusiasm. With the funding for these classroom materials, my students have a chance to excel while learning English and when learning Literature through project based learning. We learn by doing and my students are doing much thanks to your generosity.
Many of my students live in food deserts and do not know how to build a functioning urban garden or cook from the garden. This project would teach students that cooking from an urban garden is one of the most basic of sustainability tasks.
