My Students
My students are vibrant, spirited, precocious, and brilliant, yet trapped by circumstances, and systemic faulty beliefs, which continue to hinder their opportunities and limit their resources. Many have persevered despite significant challenges and underwhelming support from community and family. Additionally, their Title I neighborhood school, which is underfunded and understaffed, only exacerbates this hopelessness and leaves little opportunity for high expectations and enriching experiences. education. Many students arrive to school hungry, ill-kept, and lacking basic school supplies.
With the help of generous donors, I hope to provide each student the necessary resources they deserve, so that attention is directed to academics rather than fulfilling basic needs
My Project
Students struggling to meet their basic needs cannot possibly meet their innate potential to thrive. Giving students snacks, drinks and hygiene items will encourage learning and promote confidence.
Students cannot reach their academic potential when preoccupied with hunger and insecurities.
Too many students come to school each day ashamed, hungry and downtrodden. Their unmet needs manifest in poor attendance and failing grades.
I am confident your gifts of essential resources such as snacks and hygiene products will help to yield increased achievement, confidence and self-esteem. Students will begin to focus less on survival and begin to thrive.
