Survival Adventure Books for Teens

Help me give my students an assortment of hunting, fishing, and adventure books. I have many students who live on farms or rural areas who love reading about hunting and fishing.

My Project

A common standard in reading is to read independent books on grade level. The biggest challenge for me as a classroom teacher is providing enough reading materials that interest 80+ students enough to read. Learning about each student and their interests allows me to understand their personalities and what types of genres they enjoy reading. What I have discovered this year is that many of them enjoy reading survival books or books about hunting/fishing. That is what I want to stock my shelves for next year.

Having a classroom library of book titles my students are interested in reading will kick-start our new school year off right.

I have researched the students who will be coming to the junior high as well, and many come from rural areas, farms, and the country. I believe having book titles already on hand that will pique their interest will help to not only make an easy transition to a new school building but will also make learning fun.
