I have a large number of junior high students who love reading and learning about history. These books were such a wonderful addition to our classroom, as the students are expected to read eight independent books of their choice during the school year at their level. These history books will provide many of them with their favorite genres. \r\n This year has been a challenge with my incoming 7th graders. I have many reluctant and below grade level readers. These books help provide them with quality titles and literature that capture their interests. Engaging a student's interest in a book is half the battle. When students find interesting topics that they enjoy, they learn that reading can actually be fun. The more they read, the easier it gets, and the higher they score. They become life-long learners.","fullyFundedDate":1755722985140,"projectUrl":"project/highlight-history-with-books/9371597/","projectTitle":"Highlight History with Books","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mousel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp341835_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1527429547193","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/341835"},{"teacherId":341835,"projectId":8848023,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom library. We teach with explicit instruction to demonstrate the comprehension strategy we are working on for that week, and the students then practice that same strategy in their chapter books of choice.
