My students need a Learning Center supply caddy with everyday supplies including glitter, tape, markers, highlighter, scissors, and much more.

My Students

Surprise us this school year with a gift that keeps on on giving: a supply caddy for high school students enrolled in Career and Technical Education classes.

Our Career Center has a brand new Learning Center as its hub-a place for students with and without disabilities can go to for testing support, small group instruction, independent study, career exploration, computer access and much more!

Our students come from several area high schools and have chosen to take CTE courses such as Health Occupations, Welding, Veterinary Assisting, Auto Mechanics, Aviation as well as several Business and Technology classes. Our Learning Center provides support services to all students, and a Supply Caddy would be especially helpful as we meet the unique needs of so many different students in a variety of classes. Throughout the year, students will visit for a plethora of reasons, and we want to be prepared-as they prepare for their future!

My Project

The purpose of the supply caddy is as diverse as our students! I want to encourage students to engage in their learning and understanding as much as possible. Having a caddy will assist with organization as well as create an independence with the learning environment while keeping distractions low and learning flow high. This is an ideal characteristic of a Learning Center and one that I really want to achieve at our Career Center. If a group of students are working on color pages for their Health Occupation class, they will have immediate access to the materials they need: a variety of markers, paper and pens. Simultaneously, if one student is studying Welding and needs a ruler, the caddy will be a convenient place for all these different of supplies, for any student in any class.

A supply caddy for our learning center would be very beneficial to all students who attend our career center.

As an organizer, it would be centrally located in the center, allowing students to work at their own pace, keep the instructional flow moving with little distraction, and allow students to work on a variety of learning material. I am confident this would be a very value-added "surprise" to our school!
