My Students

Being creative means taking risks and ignoring doubt and facing fears. My students are incredibly important to me and they are so original in lots of ways that allow me to enjoy their company each and every day. Many of my students have not yet developed socially acceptable filters so they are amazingly candid and honest.

My students are always searching for inspiration in even the most mundane places.

I always say, "Being creative means you're thinking!" My students love to complete intricate puzzles, build with LEGOs, and create things. The difficulty is that most of my students are able to think of original ideas, but they haven’t spent enough time with any material to learn how to make the things they see in their minds.

My Project

My classroom is busy working at Literacy and Math Stations but I need more flexible ways to allow students to work where they feel comfortable.

The Lap Desks provide a versatile work surface for writing, using iPads, and reading on the floor where students can work on the go!

The lap desk is a lightweight one-piece design that is portable and convenient for storage.

First graders love to move when they learn and although I have Hokki stools for them to sit at tables, these lap desks will be perfect when they want to sit on the floor! This will bump up interest and excitement in my literacy stations!
