Help me give my students an opportunity for self expression, creativity, empowerment, and social emotional learning through the visual arts by providing them with professional canvas panels and quality paint brushes.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
If you could meet my students, you would love them too. My students are all so unique and amazing in their own individual ways. They are funny, talented, creative, brilliant, and beyond capable of achieving any goals that they set their minds on. Seeing them grow and get excited about learning is what I love most about them. All of my students are from low-income and underrepresented communities who face many challenges at school and at home due to environmental factors. But even with all of the constraints and obstacles that come their way, a trend that I noticed with all of my students is their willingness to learn.
My students deeply understand the importance of school and education and how it affects their future-- they are the most hardworking and dedicated kids that I have had the honor to work with.
With their families coming from different walks of the Earth, I have come to learn that my students want to succeed. They want to have a brighter future so that they can make their families proud, make themselves proud, and ultimately make a difference in the world and inspire others. This is truly what makes them so special.
My Project
The materials for this project will be used to help my students put on an art show/gallery to showcase their artwork for our school. The canvases will be a much better and professional-like surface for them to create their paintings.
Having my students launch and be a part of their own art show and gallery will give them a sense of empowerment that they deserve to experience.
These materials are essential to the process of social-emotional learning, including students' self-perception, self-worth, and social awareness. My students all come from different backgrounds and experiences, and so the visual arts allows for them to communicate their feelings in one of the most creative ways.
