it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students I service come from hard-working families; all with unique needs and varying academic levels. My students are all eager to learn and need resources to help support their learning. I am an intervention specialist and need to be able to service my students with supplies of their own. In the past, materials would be shared between my groups but with all of the changes in education I would love to be able to provide each student with their own workbook. I work with 3rd, 4th and 5th graders who are behind their peers in their reading abilities.
The little things are the big things and having their own workbook makes a big impact on how a child feels about the reading supports I provide.
I do my best to create a safe space and time for my students so they don't feel bad about getting the support. My goal every year is to help each child get on track to become a more confident reader. I strongly believe that every child needs and deserves every effort to help them become a proficient reader.
