Supporting Struggling Readers, Oh My!

My Project

JCES is located in Philadelphia, PA, with a predominantly African-American student population. While many of the students face significant challenges, their love for learning seems to get brighter each and every day. Students enjoy engaging in hands-on learning experiences that help to stimulate the mind and encourage curiosity. Unfortunately, as the pandemic continues, students have suffered much learning loss, especially in the area of reading/language arts.

Access to high quality reading materials from Teachers Pay Teachers will not only help my students grow as readers, it will lead to them becoming productive citizens in society!

As a reading specialist, I support students in grades 4-6 who chronically struggle with reading. For students to make adequate progress, they need access to high-quality reading materials that develop skills in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and writing. Please help me to provide my students with high-quality reading materials!
