My Students

Do you ever get in a slump that effects your mood, concentration, and daily choices? Now imagine being an 8 year old again and trying to learn the rigorous standards that are required for third grade.

My students attend a small public school in rural Northern Maine where the winters are long and cold.

My students spend most of the winter inside at recess time and therefore are limited to indoor activities.

Despite the challenges we face, my students come to school every day with a "what are we going to learn today" mindset. The difficulty of staying focused and having excess energy doesn't discourage them but limits what we can accomplish in a day.

My Project

It isn't a surprise that today's stressors are contributing to an abundance of anxious students struggling to stay focused and be successful in the classroom. The problems that they are exposed to on a daily basis would crush an average adult's drive to push forward. I'm asking for help with supporting my second graders so they can learn what tools work best for them and their learning styles.

These sensory supports will help my students that are having difficulty coping with their anxiety while trying to stay focused and learn in the classroom.

The variety of seating options will pair well with the crate seats and stools that I already have available.
