This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a special education teacher who works in a third grade co-taught setting. This means that I work with multiple students with special needs who are integrated into the classroom full-time instead of being pulled out.

I have multiple students with sensory needs who would benefit from having the option to reduce the sensory input from a busy classroom of 17 third graders, and to have the tools to help sooth!

I have one pair of headphones and a limited number of fidget options that are shared amongst the multiple students, and it would be beneficial to give each student their own set of headphones and sensory item so that they can have the freedom to utilize them whenever they need, without the constraint of if they are available/not in use with another student!
