This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine coming to a new country where every single thing is new! You walk into a new school and enter a new classroom full of people who don't look like you or talk like you. You're not familiar with the food or the traditions. Our students have grown up in an inner-city; many of these children face poverty, violence, and obscenities of life on a daily basis that are well beyond what most of us could imagine. Despite all of this, they come to school ready to expand their minds and continue to explore. I want to make my classroom the best it can be for all students.

All students can succeed if given the opportunity; this project will help my students be exposed to phonics and phonemic awareness during centers.

It will greatly support my newcomers and multilingual learners.

My students will use these centers to help them build their phonic and phonemic awareness, which will help them become amazing readers. Students will be able to have access to materials and resources from a variety of these games and activities to support their fluency.
