Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As I coach a new sport, girls' flag football, I hope to help my female players deal with and manage their emotions on and off the field.

I will be coaching inner-city girls who never played the sport but have the heart to come out every day and try. My goal is to coach the girls who have never been able to try a sport due to not having the finances. I want to remove that barrier and allow all the girls interested to be a part of the team. Removing the financial barrier, I would like to give them football socks, towels to stay dry, a bench to rest between games, and a tent because it gets very cold. Something many may see as small will go a long way with my ladies.
