My students have recently immigrated to the USA from various countries around the world. They come with a variety of outlooks on life and worldly experience that is unlike anything I have seen before.
My students are strong, brilliant, inspirational individuals who are so passionate about learning and becoming productive members of society.
They are avid readers and writers, and learners. They take interest in their peers' cultures, as well as that of the society they have recently joined. They are constantly looking for new things to learn and different viewpoints to analyze.
My Project
Most of my students come from low socio-economic households and cannot afford basic school supplies. I want to take the burden off my students' families by supplying them with the materials they will need in my class.
Every student should be entitled to the basic supplies they will need in order to succeed in school.
Some items I would like to provide for them include, but are not limited to, pencils, folders, and an electronic pencil sharpener.
I have also included items such as bulletin board trim that will be used to decorate our classroom in order to best represent their many cultures in our multicultural classroom.
