This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We're a Tier 1 school with students who have been impacted by recent news in a painful way. We're getting through this year well enough, but spirits are low. Something all students have expressed interest in, on and off, is film-making. As camera phones are ubiquitous enough, the only thing we are lacking is a device that can handle video editing.

With a decent laptop, they could actually edit and process their own student films to provide a strong, creative outlet.

My Project

This laptop will help students to have a creative outlet to make films that motivate other students to support their school and each other. Chromebooks are useless when it comes to video editing (or even photo editing!), which leaves it down to their phones that run the gamut of quality.

I just want our kids who don't have the opportunity to use actual, decent technology to be able to make their creative projects come to life.

The sad truth is that many of them will never get their hands on anything like this and they might discover something that they hadn't before.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
