My students need stools of many different sizes (including crates that will be turned into stools) and bean bags to go into the reading nook. They also need basic classroom supplies like pencils, and composition books.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Although I teach in a low income area, my students know no limits. We often times talk about our goals as a class and discuss what we need to do to make that goal happen. I would love to provide my students with a comfortable learning environment that encourages my students to learn and grow in the best way that know how.
To help facilitate this, I'd like to provide my students with flexible seating options for our classroom along with a slew of schools supplies at their disposal.
I believe that flex seating is a way to make to allow students a choice in their learning process. They are able to choose where and how they want to learn.When students are given choices such as these, their learning behaviors change for the better.
My Project
Most students don't have a choice as to whether or not they are going to school. It is a necessity of life and the choice has already been made for them. Once they get inside my classroom, I want my students to have the ability to take their learning into their own hands.
I want them to be able to choose how they'd like to receive, apply and retain knowledge in my learning environment.
My students will be able to pick from stools of many different sizes, shapes and colors. They will also greatly benefit from basic classroom supplies such as pencils, glue sticks and composition books.
