The Mission: Girls Who Code is a national non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology. Our programs educate, equip, and inspire girls with the computing skills they’ll need to pursue 21st century opportunities.
Our Girls Who Code club is open to all female students (and those who identify as female) in grades 9 through 12.
Our club meets during school and after school. We are hoping to grow our group each year! New members are always welcome!
My Project
Girls learning coding is just one step towards addressing the gender gap in STEM fields. Girls who learn to code early develop problem-solving, logic and critical thinking skills while understanding the deep impacts of computer science and the world wide web.
Girls can design, build and code Lego robots!
Together our club members will collaborate to creatively develop solutions to problems. These materials will allow opportunities to not only implement engineering design principles but to inspire creativity. Failure is an important part of learning and through construction and coding errors girls will learn how to persevere through frustration and setbacks.
