Support Engineering in the Science Classroom

Help me give my students the materials necessary to explore the engineering and design process.

My Students

My students come from a neighborhood with strong community values. They are hungry for interesting experiences that will help shape them as people as well as help shape their future careers and lifestyles. Because of the technological era in which they are growing up, young people these days are forced to navigate an ever changing world.

These students love learning about the world around them.

They equally love experimentation and hands-on experiences. Teaching in a pandemic classroom has stretched resources thin. Social-distancing has forced us to keep groups small and created a need for more of crucial materials.

My Project

Science and engineering go hand in hand. These spare LEGO parts will help fortify kits we already use in science. Rubber band cars, balances, catapults and wind anemometers are only a few of the projects we already do with out LEGO engineering kits. These popular projects expose all of our 8th graders to basic engineering concepts through hands-on learning.

These materials will help to get more kids building in smaller groups and allow us to design and implement more comprehensive building projects in class.

The beams and brackets in these kits in particular are crucial to the projects that we do in class.
