Help me give my students the unique opportunity to attend a workshop led by the talented neurodivergent artist, Annie Rose Macer. The items on this list will provide materials for the students and Annie to create art together.
This project was created to purchase the art supplies needed to facilitate the visit of a Portland-based disabled artist, Annie Rose Macer, to Grant High School. Annie Rose works with North Pole Studios, an art studio in Portland, Oregon which supports careers in the arts, and exists to increase opportunities for artists with autism and intellectual / developmental disabilities to thrive as active members of the arts community.
If we are funded we will have the art supplies we need to host Annie at Grant and lead neurodivergent students in a workshop where they will have the opportunity to create their own pieces of art under her guidance.
Annie is donating her time and talent to us; all we need to do is provide materials for her and for our students to make art with!
Annie's visit is planned as part of the internationally recognized Neurodiversity Celebration Week (March 13-17), which celebrates Neurodiversity in all its forms. We are planning a number of events throughout the week, but this will stand out as the only hands-on event, which makes it truly accessible for learners who may have a harder time with the 'lecture' or 'panel' format of the other presentations
