Support Budding Scientists and Mathematicians

My Students

Learning Math requires hands-on experiences to encourage participation and confidence. The time of rote memory Math drills are in the past. Today's children need a fun, interactive, and a rigorous curriculum to succeed. We will use everything in our wish list to achieve our goals.

The students are from a major urban city.

I teach two 8th grade classes Math and Science. One class has 35 students. and the other has 33 students. Our school is a public school and has recently lost funding due to budget cuts from the state. My students love to learn and always try to do their best. There are some children who read below level and have difficulty with comprehension. The children deserve a classroom environment filled with the tools to help all types of learners succeed!

My Project

My students need resources such as three Scale-Arm Compass sets, an electric pencil sharpener, 30 Dry Erase Boards and markers, to enhance their classroom experience and aid the effort to differentiate for my students with disabilities. Our resources are low! Again, these items will assist the children as they navigate both the Math and Science curriculum. The markers and color pencils will help make their group projects vivid. Scissors are necessary for Math when we do various chapter projects and puzzles. The wipe off boards and markers will assist me in the effort to see which child does not grasp the concept without them having to ask a question. The dice are helpful when teaching integers, solving equations, and various other activities! Everything will help them a great deal!

Our projects are important because we lack the resources and sometimes I have to supplement with other less effective items.

Every time we use an item you donate us...I will upload pictures. The items from this list will be helpful to many of my students and some will experience a life changing defining moment in Math and Science! I cannot wait until we are funded because the instruction will be enhanced to a higher level.
