My students need markers, colored pencils and sharpies for the classroom. I really stress the importance of art and hands-on activities within the classroom. We're in need of colors and materials that will help students excel.
The students of our middle school are hard-working, caring and respectful kids. They come from a variety of background and home situations, but share a commitment to education and schooling. My 8th grade students posses the drive and energy to be successful in whatever they choose, but many lack the structures and routines to follow through on that. A classroom equipped with the tools and resources to provide success will be incredibly meaningful to them. I teach for the impact I have on lives, please help me in reaching that goal.
My Project
My students really struggle with Math, but I've found some creative ways in which they are able to find it more engaging and interesting. In order to really go in on this, we are in need of colored pencils, markers, and pens to make this a reality. It's hard to sell art through math when all kids have are pencils and a black pen. In order to make math engaging and relevant for my students, the ability to do colorful hands-on projects will be really meaningful to them.
This will make a difference by giving kids different ways to learn and succeed.
