My Students

My students are an amazing group of caring, funny, and kind 6-year-olds. They are a diverse group; many students having special needs and most are English language learners. They all come from very different home environments. Some of my students are lucky enough to live with their parents and siblings, while others may live with their grandparents or other guardians while their parents are out of state for work.

Many of my students tend to lack resources, experience, and exposure from home, so it is important for me to provide them with experiences that are both academic and fun.

My Project

School is out for summer and September is already on the brain!

First grade is an important year and my students need all of the basics to get them off to a running start!

Each year I try to supply my students with all of the basic school necessities so that their families do not need to worry about purchasing them, as many cannot afford these supplies. We need basic school supplies such as story tablets, envelopes, notebooks, folders, file boxes and dry erase markers to start school off on the right foot!

Each of my students will receive a heavy-duty folder that can handle being brought back and forth from home each night for homework and other important notices. They will also have color coded folders for different subject areas to help keep them organized in class. Additionally they will each have a journal for free writing and a notebooks for all of our poems. File boxes will keep everything organized and tidy. We will also use supply caddys to house each table's supplies so that everything has it's place.
